    By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

    Identify when TUPE might apply by applying the appropriate criteria to determine a 'relevant transfer'
    Advise a client on the effect and consequence of such a transfer on an individual contract of employment
    Identify the effect of a dismissal by reason of a relevant transfer
    Advise on the Transferee’s and the Transferor's duty to inform and consult and the sanctions for failing to do so
    Identify the remedies in relation to dismissals by reason of a relevant transfer

  • This course covers the importance of settlement agreements and the requirements for them to be legally binding. You'll explore whistleblowing claims and understand the tax treatment of settlement payments.

    By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

    Identify a potential whistleblowing claim from a set of facts
    Appreciate the significance of an employee making a ‘protected disclosure’ and the types of claims that might follow from this
    Understand the commercial importance of settlement and the terms that are frequently negotiated
    Advise a client on and review terms in a settlement agreement to ensure that it is legally binding within the meaning of the Employment Rights Act 1996
    Understand the tax treatment of settlement payments
