StaySharp Refund Policy
Last update:
This policy explains when you can cancel your course and get a refund. It applies to all courses you buy from StaySharp through our website. It should be read alongside our full Terms and Conditions, which contain the full details and apply in the event of any conflict.
Your 14-day cancellation right
Because our courses are digital, you have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of the date of your Confirmation Email. We call this the Cancellation Period.
There is an important condition attached to this right. When you buy a course, you tick a box at checkout giving us your express consent to provide immediate access to the course content. This means:
- You can cancel and receive a full refund within the 14-day Cancellation Period, as long as your total usage of the course has not exceeded 10 hours.
- Usage means the total time you spend actively accessing any of the digital course materials through your account, for example coursebooks and reading materials, exam kits and practice questions, video content, quizzes, interactive tools, discussion forums and any other digital resources or learner support included with your course.
- Once your usage passes the 10-hour Usage Limit, you will no longer be entitled to a refund under this right, even if the 14-day Cancellation Period has not yet ended.
You can check your total usage at any time by contacting StaySharp.
Refunds after 14 days
Your refund rights depend on the type of subscription you chose.
Pre-Paid subscriptions
- You can cancel and receive a full refund only within the 14-day cancellation period, and only if your usage has not reached the 10-hour usage limit.
- Once the cancellation period has ended, or once your usage reaches 10 hours (whichever happens first), you cannot cancel or claim a refund for your course.
Monthly and Quarterly subscriptions
- Within the 14-day cancellation period, and provided your usage has not reached the 10-hour usage limit, you can cancel and receive a full refund.
- You can also cancel at any time after that. However, if you cancel outside the cancellation period (or after reaching the usage limit), you will not receive a refund of any fees you have already paid, including any part-period (pro-rata) refund.
- If you cancel a monthly or quarterly subscription, cancellation takes effect from your next billing date, and you will keep access to your course until the end of the period you have already paid for.
CIPD courses on a Monthly subscription (7-day free trial)
If you buy a CIPD course on a Monthly subscription, you get a 7-day free trial starting when you receive your confirmation email. If you cancel before the end of the 7-day trial, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your monthly subscription starts automatically and we will charge your fees. The free trial is available once per customer for each CIPD course.
How to cancel
To cancel, simply use the "Cancel Subscription" link in your account on our website, or contact us using the details below.
How refunds are paid
We make refunds using the same payment method you used to buy the course. We cannot refund to a different account. Refunds are paid within 14 calendar days of you telling us you wish to cancel. This may increase to 30 calendar days if we are unable to credit a UK bank account.
When refunds are not available
Please note that we will not provide a refund where we suspend or end your access to a course because you have broken our terms, for example, by sharing your login details or downloading course content in breach of our intellectual property rights.
