CIMA entry requirements

Generally speaking, you will need a good level of maths and English in order to succeed in this course, as well as a relevant degree/accounting credentials such as AAT or ACCA qualifications, or the CIMA Cert BA before you can begin the Professional qualification. For this module, you must also have completed the Operational Level module.

The Management level consists of three computer-based Objective Tests and one case study.

CIMA’s Three Learning Pillars

  • Enterprise pillar

Focuses on the role of the finance function and how it interacts with the organisation through the use of data and technology.

  • Performance pillar

Uses the tools and techniques of management accounting and risk management to ensure that strategy is realistic and to monitor its implementation.

  • Financial pillar

Focuses on the financial accounting and reporting obligations of the organisation.

CIMA Management Level subjects

E2 covers the fundamentals of business models, how new businesses and operating models can be developed, as well as how different styles of leadership can be used to improve the performance of individuals to achieve organisational goals.

In P2 you will discover how to use cost management, quality and process management to provide organisations with a cost advantage. You will also learn how to analyse risks and uncertainties that organisations face in the medium term, especially capital investment decision making.

Building on the knowledge gained in F1, you will learn the key financial reporting standards on which financial statements are based, and the application of those standards to prepare group accounts. The International Integrated Reporting Framework and its components will also be covered.
