Frequently asked questions

  • ACCA stands for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

  • An ACCA qualification is a globally recognised professional
accountancy qualification for people building careers in accounting and
finance. It’s designed for those who want to progress into more senior roles or
qualify as a chartered certified accountant.

  • ACCA is suited to people who are already working in finance or accountancy, as well as those looking to move into the industry as a career change. This course is ideal if you want a flexible way to study alongside your work or other commitments.

  • To start at the Applied Knowledge level, you’ll usually need qualifications equivalent to university entry level. This typically means three GCSEs and two A Levels in five separate subjects, including maths and English.

If you already have relevant qualifications, such as a degree from an ACCA‑accredited university, you may be able to start at a later
stage of the qualification. This can reduce the number of exams you need to complete.

We recommend checking directly with ACCA to confirm what applies to you.

  • Yes, but it’s built to be studied alongside a full-time job. With the right materials and a consistent study routine, most people successfully progress through their exams. Your StaySharp subscription includes everything you need to stay on track.

  • Most people take between three to five years to pass the full ACCA qualification. However, the exact time frame depends on how quickly you study, how many exams you sit each session, and your work experience.

It’s possible to complete the exams in a shorter period if you progress quickly, but you’ll still need three years of relevant practical experience before you become a full ACCA member. Some ACCA exams are taken during set exam windows, which can also influence how fast you progress.

  • If you’ve passed some of the ACCA exams but have not yet achieved the full qualification, you may be considered ACCA part qualified.

To become fully ACCA-qualified, you’ll need to:
    • complete all three levels of study (unless you are entitled to exemptions)
    • pass all required exams
    • complete three years of relevant work experience
    • meet ACCA’s ethic requirements

Once everything is complete, ACCA will award your final qualification.

  • The ACCA exams are available both online or at approved exam centres, depending on the subject and your location. Many exams are available during specific exam windows, so it’s important to plan your studies
    accordingly.

ACCA manages exam delivery and scheduling, so we recommend checking directly with them to see which options are available to you.

  • ACCA recommends around 20 hours of study for multiple-choice assessments, though this varies by paper and by person.

Your experience and study pace will shape how long you actually need.

  • Yes. The completion of the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills levels is the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. When you complete the Professional level, it is the equivalent of a master's degree.

The ACCA is a globally recognised professional qualification.

  • For each paper, you will have access to:

    • an online workbook
    • exam practice kit
    • pre-recorded videos
    • practice questions and assessments

Everything is designed to help you prepare for the exam.

  • Your StaySharp subscription includes access to all the learning resources you will need, but ACCA exams and fees are booked separately with ACCA.

Information about exams, membership, and how to book them can be found on the ACCA website.

  • Due to intellectual property laws, it’s not
possible to download the majority of course materials. You’ll need an active internet connection to authenticate your account and access your learning content. However, some course videos are available to download and watch later.

Pay a fair price. Guaranteed.

When it comes to comparing prices, we’ve already done the legwork. But if you find an equivalent course for a lower price, let us know – we’ll happily refund you the difference.
