You’ll be introduced to accounting essentials, put your practical skills to the test, and gain a deeper understanding of financial ethics. But that’s not all. The course is also designed to expand your leadership, communication and teamwork skills, and ensure you have the hands-on experience needed to become a forward-thinking finance professional.

What are the requirements?

  • Applied Knowledge is the first stage of the ACCA Qualification. To start studying for these exams, you must be qualified to university entrance level.
  • If you have relevant education, such as a university degree from an ACCA-accredited university, you could start at Strategic Professional.

What does the ACCA syllabus cover?

The ACCA Qualification is split into three parts: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills and Strategic Professional. Your subscription gives you access to all papers, across each level.

The first stage of the ACCA Qualification is Applied Knowledge. You’ll be introduced to all the basics before putting your knowledge to the test in three exam papers.

  • Financial Accounting (FA)
  • Management Accounting (MA)

The Applied Skills module expands your knowledge of finance and accounting further and enables you to put your newfound skills into practice.

To start studying for the six Applied Skills exams, you must have either completed the Applied Knowledge exams, have achieved the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) or have a relevant accounting or finance qualification at degree level.

You’ll need a pass mark of 50% for each exam paper to be able to continue to the Strategic Professional module.

The final step of the ACCA Qualification is Strategic Professional. You can tailor this module to suit your specific career ambitions. 

You’re required to complete four exams: two compulsory modules which include Strategic Business Leader and Strategic Business Reporting, and two further exams from the following: Advanced Financial Management; Advanced Performance Management; Advanced Taxation; or Advanced Audit and Assurance.

  • To start studying for ACCA’s foundation level course, Applied Knowledge, you must be qualified to university entrance level. This means you need three GCSEs and two A Levels in five separate subjects including maths and English.

  • ACCA is a professional qualification that’s recognised worldwide. Completion of the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills papers is the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree. When you complete the Professional level, it is the equivalent of a master's degree. 

  • Our monthly subscription cost includes access to all the BPP learning resources, but you’ll need to cover the cost of your ACCA exams separately. Information about exams and how to book them can be found on the ACCA website.

  • It can take, on average, around 3 years to complete your ACCA qualification. However, this will vary depending on the pace that you study.
